Moving tips

HOW TO PLAN FOR AN EFFICIENT MOVE?

HOW MANY BOXES SHOULD I NEED?

Based on our experience, we advise planning on 12 - 15 boxes per room. This is approximate as rooms such as a kitchen will require more boxes than a bedroom etc.

WHAT SIZE BOXES WILL I NEED?

To pack dishes, books, and other small but heavy items, we suggest a box size of 1.5 to 2 cubic foot capacity. For pots and pans, toys, and clothing we recomend a box size of 3 cubic foot capacity. Finally, to pack pillows, cushions, bed linens and other large lightweight items, we recomend a 5 cubic foot capacity box.

HOW CAN I PROTECT MY FRAGILE OBJECTS ?

For packing everyday dishes and tableware, we suggest using packing paper ( sold in packages) this product has a texture that is  similar to newsprint and offers excellent protection during transport without the marks left by regular newspaper inks. For items such as your collectables, crystal, china, porcelaine, small mirrors and frames, we suggest using our EPI certified biodegradable bubble wrap. ( available in rolls ).

IMPORTANT NOTE: For maximum protection of fragile items, it is advisable that they be packed towards the center of the box and that all voids, in, and around the items filled  with crushed or balled up paper to avoid movement.

THE BEST WAY TO PROTECT FRAMES:

We keep an inventory of boxes formatted especialy for packing frames. We suggest at all times to overwrap adequately with bubble wrap before placing in the box for maximum protection.

THE BEST WAY TO PROTECT MATRESSES:

We propose that you buy specialy made matress bags that are produced using strong tear resistant plastic. Available in 4 sizes: Twin, Double, Queen, and King. These bags are excellent for protecting even todays thicker matresses.
