How to plan your move effectively?

How many boxes should I need?

Based on our experience, we advise planning on 12 – 15 boxes per room. Of course, this is only an approximation to help you determine the number of boxes required. Some rooms, such as the kitchen, require more boxes than bedrooms, for example.

How to measure a box?

Always take measurements from the INTERIOR of your boxes.

Enter your dimensions in the following order:

Length X Width X Height

Dimensions are in inches. If you measure in centimeters, divide your results by 2.51 to get the equivalent in inches.

In this example, we have a box measuring 16″ x 12″ x 8″.

What size of boxes are needed?

To pack dishes, books, and other small but heavy items, we recommend using a box size of approximately 1.5 to 2 cubic feet. For pots and pans, children’s toys, or even clothes, a box of approximately 3 cubic feet would certainly be useful. Finally, for pillows, comforters, sheets, or any other very light but rather bulky items, it is preferable to use a large box with a volume of approximately 5 cubic feet. How to protect your fragile objects?

For regular dishes, you can use packing paper (sold in packs) which has a texture similar to traditional newspaper. This product will allow you to protect your plates, bowls, and glasses during transport.

For more fragile items such as crystal or porcelain dishes, frames or mirrors, we recommend using biodegradable bubble wrap (EPI certified) sold in rolls and will offer greater protection to your valuables.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For maximum protection of fragile items, it is advisable that they be packed towards the center of the box and that all voids, in, and around the items filled with crushed or balled up paper to avoid movement.

What is the best way to protect a matress?

These bags are excellent for protecting even todays thicker matresses. You will find everything you need to protect your precious belongings within our packing solutions section.

Take the time to identify your boxes with labels

We suggest you take the time to identify your cardboard boxes using color codes for each piece. The movers will easily gather your moving boxes and you will save time and money due to better efficiency. When it comes time to unpack, you’ll be glad you identified the contents so you can get back up and running quickly. It is also wise to prepare one or two boxes of survival tools and accessories that will be very useful during the transition. Tools, utensils, toilet paper and whatever it takes to ease the stress of moving, and do not forget the corkscrew.
